St. Patrick’s Day is the least sexy day of the year, second only to Tax Day. It’s a wonderful day, but corned beef, cabbage, soda bread, Guinness, and endless amounts of wool and tweed hardly get the heart pumping.

Who’s to say the day doesn’t have potential though? After all, a holiday is a holiday. It deserves celebration! After some brainstorming, we’ve come up with a few ways to turn the 17th on its head and make it March’s sexiest day.

Switch to Wine

Beer is synonymous with the festivities, but it’s also a depressant. All those heavy carbs and empty calories add up fast and slow your body down significantly. If you’re drinking this holiday, treat your body right with some wine instead. Red wine is not only kinder to the body and lighter in the stomach, but it’s also a proven aphrodisiac, increasing blood flow and heightening sexual desire. Plus, there’s no denying that the fragrances are much more alluring.

A Minty Alternative

This time of year, you’re probably tempted to head to McDonald’s and grab a Shamrock Shake. You don’t need us to tell you that milkshakes are sexually counterproductive, but here we are. Mix things up and experience a different minty sensation with Excitemint. Made with stimulating clove and peppermint, this enhancement gel is guaranteed to heighten your senses and have you glowing like the gold at the end of a rainbow. Ditch the cold milkshake and turn up the heat.

Sexy Irish Music

Leave those jaunty (and deceptively sad) pub tunes at the bar. This year, get the mood going with a collection of tender, heartfelt, and sensual music by some of Ireland’s best female musicians. From Enya to The Cranberries, this playlist is the tonal opposite of “Tim Finnegan’s Wake.” Check it out below:

It’s hard to make a day about a saint sexy. But with these tips, we know you can make the most out of it. Cheers or, as the Irish say, Sláinte!
